Most diets are fad diets. Almost all of them just surface today and vanish tomorrow. They have never proved to be not weight loss but health loss plans. You must have heard of the soup diet that goes into soup, grapefruit diet that dries up, no carbs diets that never worked, the only carbs diets that is only another diet. All these have on thing in common - they are risky diets that can hurt your health badly.

The latest craze is that people try all crazy diet concepts keeping out almost every food out. These programs that keep entire food groups out are surely risky diets. Avoiding vital foods will result in nutrition deficiency. No carbs diet may help quick weight loss, but that is a risky diet hurting your health. Deprivation of carbohydrates will make you uncomfortable, and then disturbed and finally you will a strong craving for eating every thing on the earth that is loaded with starchy, fatty carbohydrates.

Carbohydrates are in fact the primary energy source for your body to function. In fact your brain is able to function because it draws energy from carbohydrates. That is the reason why you crave for carb-rich and sugar-based snacks when you do demanding mental work. You can understand how these no-carbs diets are risky diets.

About meat in your diet, it is true meat will supply a lot of fat to your system. But fully eliminating may not help much. So the way out is to think of the amount of fat that you have in your food. After all you need minerals and vitamins which are available in meat. If you fully eliminate these ingredients, you are adopting one of the risky diets. For example, iron deficiency can lead to anemia.

Then, you need proteins which are the unavoidable inputs to your health as they fuel the growth of fresh cells and tissues. Where your diet keeps meat out, you need to seek protein supplements in the form of soy, fish, chicken, eggs etc. Be watchful of risky diets.
