Popping up a pill is often the preferred quick fix to weight loss. It is convenient, easy, and reasonably priced. However, not known to many people, there are certain ingredients in diet pills that are not quite to the taste of our general system. These pose health risks, and for one reason or another, drug companies fail to provide the public with the necessary information that would keep their health secured. Instead, risks are undisclosed and properties of ingredients like the ones discussed below are heavily marketed.
Guarana
Famous for triggering weight loss because of its capacity to stimulate metabolism and suppress appetite, guarana has become an instant favorite when it was released to the market a couple of years ago. Like caffeine, it can stimulate the nervous system to become more active, and like it, many people may find that they are a little too sensitive to guarana. Apart from sensitivity to guarana and the symptoms that go along with it, guarana also leads to unwelcome side effects which include a rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure, anxiety, and difficulty in sleeping. People who have problematic cardiovascular systems are, therefore, advised to stay clear of this diet pill ingredient.
Bitter Orange
Ever heard of the notorious ephedra? Bitter orange, a standard component of diet pills, act in the same way as ephedra does. Again, just like guarana, bitter orange may pose problems for people with shaky cardiovascular conditions as it speeds up heart rate and blood pressure to testy levels. Though very effective as a weight loss ingredient, it is nevertheless not recommended for people who have weak hearts.
Heartleaf or Country Mallow
Like the previous ingredients we have mentioned, this, too, poses risks to people who have unstable cardiovascular health. Thanks to its ephedrine content (remember Ephedra?), country mallow has also consistently presented problems for people who are suffering from cardiovascular conditions.
Most of weight loss pill ingredients have been proven to be very effective in helping people lose weight, but as all good things must come to an end, sometimes the benefits stop at some point and turn out to be disastrous.
