Do Low Carb Diets Really Work?

Do Low Carb Diets Really Work?

Low carbohydrate diets are touted today to lead to quick weight loss ... but do low carb diets really work?

Carbohydrates are a macro nutrient which means they are required by the boy in large quantities. Carbs are found in foods such as breads, grains, fruit. rice and starchy vegetables. Carbs are the main source of energy in the body.

Will you lose weight by cutting carbohydrates from your diet?

Of course you will because foods with carbs have calories, calories being the source of energy in the body. Excess calories are stored in the body and adds weight to the body. If you eat less foods with high calories .. the body will lose weight as it uses up the stored calories in the body.

So... do low carb diets really work?

Yes.. and here are the factors that make them work:

· Loss of water weight. When carbs are cut from the diet, the body burns glycogen which is a form of carbohydrate already in the body. Glycogen contains a lot of water so burning it releases the water which causes weight loss.
·
· Decreased appetite. Ketones are a byproduct of burning fat without carbohydrates which build up in the bloodstream putting the body in a state of ketosis... during which you a body feels fuller longer.
·
· Eating reduced calories. Low carb diets reduce you intake of calories since they strictly reduce the types of foods eaten. carbohydrates provide over half of the daily calories in an average diet. Reducing calories eventually reduces weight.

Low carbohydrate diets do work.

The question .. are they safe.. is another aspect to look at.

Carbohydrates are the main source of fuel for the body.... used for the energy of the body. Glucose is derived from carbs and every cell in the body uses glucose. The main systems of the body require carbs to function properly.. including the central nervous system, kidney, brain, muscles.

Subsequently .. a low intake of carbs may cause fatigue, stomach cramps and indigestion.

Depression could follow a loss of physical stamina.

Once on the low carb diet... it must be maintained to continue to maintain the weight loss and findings show it is not an easy diet to rigorously follow for long term. Most people drop out.

So.. do low carb diets work?

Yes they do. Any time less calories are taken into the body for any length of time... weight loss will be the result. However ... limiting the intake of anything the body needs to function properly is not the most ideal way to lose weight.

There is a better way as is said every where. Eat less and exercise more.

There is an easier and an actually fun way to lose weight that makes so much sense.

Read about a life changing experience safely while having fun.
