A diabetic diet will be necessary if your blood sugar spikes over 140 two hours after a meal. Spikes in blood sugar will, after a time cause heart disease, eye problems, foot problems, kidney disease, plus many other complications to your health.

Another important way to prevent diabetes and high blood sugar is to relax with meditation, yoga, and tai-chi exercises. Learn to put worry out of your mind and think positive.
