Herbal Diet Pills - Are They Indeed Risk-Free?

Obesity is one of the major problems encountered today in the society. It is not just vanity but it concerns more on health issues most people are facing right now. Many tasks and activities are deprived to obese people because of weight problems. Obesity can cause health problems such as high blood pressure, poor blood circulation, diabetes, chronic diseases, and many other more. Resolving this matter can be confusing and dangerous because of many methods advertised that are not medically reliable and unsafe.

Many weight loss programs are offered via internet or other information dissemination sources. But you need to be more cautious and be more aware of what weight loss program you are about to enter in order to make sure that it is safe and effective. Natural weight loss methods are considerably effective and safest way to shed off weight than other synthetic and prescribed medication. When choosing a weight loss program, people usually suggest the natural way.

Considering herbal medication, we usually associate it as a safer way because of the fact that it's herbal and less chemicals are introduced that causes unwanted side effects on our system. However, these said herbal diet pills are lab tested and proven to be dangerous and not safe as what we are made to believe. As a matter of fact, some of the natural ingredients contained on that herbal diet pill are dangerous to one's health.

Let us take guarana for example. Guarana is a natural ingredient commonly found in dietary pills that helps lose weight. Studies show that guarana helps the system to quickly perceive it to be full when taking in food. So less food is being consumed than the usual thus helps in losing weight. Studies also show that guarana reduces aggregation of platelets and decreases the formation of platelet thromboxone. This platelet action of our system increases the risk of having a heart attack and a possible ischemic stroke.

Herbal dietary medication do not usually undergo rigorous clinical test compared to prescribed medications. They do not undergo tests conducted by health departments to assure its safety and effectivity. That is why most of dietary pills have labels "no therapeutic claims".

Following such assumption lead us to the risk of wasting our money. Taking hoodia, a dietary pill, for example swept the market by storm. Despite the fact that the pill hoodia has not been proven to be effective and less people claim it to burn fat or suppress their food consumption.

St. John's Wort is an herb exposed to be dangerous in excessive consumption. Yet this certain kind of drug is still manufactured and purchased in the market. It is also known to be extremely dangerous when mixed with prescribed depression medications.

Herbal medication is not usually safe and effective. So, before taking any herbal pill always takes in precaution the risks and side effects that might occur. Awareness and proper education are always the key to good and safe living.
