Spiritual Authority In Leadership A Controversial Perspective

Spiritual Authority In Leadership A Controversial Perspective

The controversial issue of the existence of a spiritual component to leadership authority and it's influence upon our daily leadership progress, is the subject of this article.

Do you believe in more than just the natural? Are you open to a perspective that may revolutionize your leadership influence? Can you lay aside your preconceived notions about a possible metaphysical reality, for just a few moments to discover a new perspective on leadership influence? If so, keep reading!

From the beginning of time as we know it, there has been a human interest in spiritual reality. Coupled with a desire to maintain leadership authority, various people groups have turned to spiritual principles to maintain influence and order within their societies.

As we study the rise and fall of nations, we discover a close affinity with spiritual persuasion and leadership influence. A brief search of ancient Jewish texts, Greek Mythology, Catholic ideals, and modern day religious beliefs, will lead us to discover a stream of leadership authority linked with spiritual consciousness.

Briefly view the expansion of Spanish, English, and French colonies throughout the world and you will discover a parallel advancement of religious influence through Catholic and Protestant ideologies.

The physical world as we know it is presently undergoing a massive leadership "shift" which, I believe, is coupled to, and controlled by, a greater struggle and transition within the unseen spiritual domain.

This statement sounds crazy and "out there" with the fairies but closer observation of spiritual documents such as the Torah and the Holy Bible may shed light upon this profound statement. Each version of the account of human existence begins with the statement, "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth." from this perspective we may begin our journey of discovery of the relationship between spiritual consciousness and successful leadership influence.

Later in the account of human existence we see that humanity was given leadership authority via the ultimate spiritual authority, GOD Himself. The account in Genesis chapter 1 and verse 26 relays God's intent for human authority, "Then God said, "Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.""

We see that humanity was given the authority to rule the Earth. Another development reveals the reason for much of the instability within the earthly and human social realms concerning leadership influence. Ancient writings from the prophet Isaiah state, "How you are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, You who weakened the nations (Isaiah 14:12)."

Conflict in the spiritual realm between God and Lucifer (Satan) instituted a monumental earthly struggle. It is my assumption that every earthly leadership situation has become subservient to this eternal struggle.

Leadership is the result of influence. If both God and Lucifer (as spiritual entities) have influence over the natural realm (through human choice) it stands to reason that understanding spiritual principles will enhance a leader's ability to lead in their sphere of Influence.

Spiritual Leadership Principles

1. GOD was first
2. Lucifer is a created being
3. Human choice determines the leadership of GOD or Satan on the earth

These three simple points help us to understand the struggles humanity are facing throughout earthly cultures. There is a monumental battle for earthly dominion and there are three players, God, Satan and humanity. Whether we believe it or not, leaders are pivotal in this struggle! Our choices, decisions and influence play a greater part in a larger game than we may have realized.

What can leaders do in response to this knowledge?

1. Become more aware of foundational spiritual truth revealed by the Torah and the Holy Bible
2. Actively pursue leadership principles outlined in these documents
3. Choose a side in this immense spiritual struggle over humanity
4. Become an agent of change and influence with a greater leadership perspective
